T'was a day of merriment! Thomas Jefferson High School was the stage and Jefferson HS Democrats and Clinton MS Eagles were the actors when Shakespeare and Poetry were celebrated in renaissance style.  Thanks to the Eagles for soaring through time with us!!

Thank you, Ms. De Lavallade for taking time to come and visit your Alma Mater! All of us at Jefferson High School appreciate you for coming back to share your experiences and words of encouragement!

Ms. De Lavallade's November 2nd visit to Jefferson High school commemorates her return to Los Angeles, after her early career shift to New York in the 1950s. At 85, she has fashioned a prosperous career influencing both worlds of dance and theater. Her life and influence is an inspiration to our next generation of artists.

Many thanks from Jefferson High School students and staff, Ms. De Lavallade! Thank you for coming back to be a part of the Jefferson family once again!

Jefferson Alumni inspiring the next generation of Demos!

From LAUSD Daily:

"Parents invited to Demo Day included those living in the community’s Zone of Choice, a strategy to increase the number of personalized educational options available to L.A. Unified students. The Jefferson Zone of Choice is made up of Santee Learning Complex, Nava College Prep Academy and Maya Angelou Community High School. Open enrollment is under way and Gonzalez hopes to recruit students from those schools as future Democrats for 2016-17."

Denim Day at Jefferson High School has been organized to come together as a school and a community where students and staff make a social statement with their fashion statement and wear jeans as a visible means of protest against myths that surround sexual assault and crime. Our Jefferson community stands up against any type of violence. PEACE OVER VIOLENCE, DEMO PRIDE!
